babajiHaidakhan Baba

Babaji appeared in a cave at the base of holy mount Hairakhand Kailash in summer of 1970. He is referred as Hairakhan wale Baba or the one residing at Hairakhan. Despite the remote location, which till a few years ago required hours of walking to reach, thousands thronged to have a glimpse of Babaji. Babaji established a few ashrams and inspired many to set up similar centres. He is considered by his followers to be Lord Shiva himself. Many believe that he is none other than Mahavtar Babaji mentioned by Shri Yogananada in his book Autobiography of a yogi.

Babaji performed his human divine play till 1984 February, when he took Mahasamadhi. Of course to his followers and devotees he is very much present at all times and everywhere.

Babaji guided people in what was most suited to them. Most people were encouraged for Karma Yoga, i.e. carrying out work with detachment and chanting divine names;

Babaji has been able to inspire and provide strength to all sincere seekers, encouraging them to transcend all kinds of fear. He taught the assembled people from all over the world the true meaning of ‘Vasudeva Kutumbakam’ ( all living beings are a single joint family). Leaving aside prejudices, people of all walks of life worked and stayed together. No distinction based on caste or class was observed.

Babaji taught that the only true religion is ‘manavta’ ( to be human – see the same spirit in all)

The way of this religion is TRUTH* SIMPLICITY* & LOVE* and practice is KARMA YOGA.

*Truth – to say what one thinks, to do what one says. The complete coordination amongst thought, speech and deed.

*Simplicity – to project what one is, without addition or subtraction.

*Love – to feel the same spirit in all living beings and serve them without expectations.
