At The Bhojanalaya, one not only savours the treat, but enjoys the feast to encompass all the five senses!
The visual appeal of the ambience .....
The scent of fumes emanating from essential oils mingled with the aroma of freshly prepared food .....
The pleasing sound of the flute .... |
| |
|
 |
The feel of the local plant Maalu spread over the brass cutlery .....
& of course in the shadarasa (six tastes) of The Satvik Mahabhoj.....
The Satvik Mahabhoj is prepared based on the traditional Vedic principle for a healthy life, involving the right combination of six tastes in one’s meal, namely- sweet, salty, sour, pungent, astringent and bitter, |
| |
The meal has a season based appetizer for starters.
Fresh seasonal vegetables, cottage cheese and pulses form the main part of the meal.
They are prepared with mild seasoning, but ensuring that the original taste comes through.
For this onion and garlic are not used in cooking. Two preparations of rice and chapaatis are part of the lunch, while evening meal has rice and a choice of chapaatis.
|
The meal has to its accompaniment a curd item, salad, pickles, and roasted crisp papad
The finale consists of two varieties of sweet dish.
(though this is the accepted order of serving, strictly speaking the order as per Ayurveda is first sweet, followed by salty, then sour, then pungent, then astringent and last the bitter taste. The Ayurvedic order is conducive to an easier digestion and assimilation of food.) |
|
The Satvik Resort offers Ayurvedic Prakruti Nirupan, i.e individualized diagnosis of one’s fixed body constitution. Based on this one is suggested the appropriate food guide for various seasons. Following this guide, Ayurveda believes that one lives healthy as one balances out the inherent deficiencies in one’s body |
